Saint Vincent College

Overview

One of Fred Rogers’ famous quotes is, “The child is in me still—and sometimes not so still.” Our childhoods—our pasts—are part of us. Fred called himself an “emotional archaeologist” because he was interested in the origins of people’s reactions to all types of situations. Through his speeches, Fred encouraged his audiences to think about the people who have influenced them throughout their lives.

Fred Rogers spoke many times at Saint Vincent College because of his connection to the Latrobe, Pennsylvania community and his friendship with Archabbot Douglas Nowicki.
